Hybrid Chakra Consulting, LLC was started in 2009 by Deepa Ramaswamy, Ph.D.
![]() Most recently, Deepa was the Chief Engineer for Hybrid Systems and Controls & Electronics for Ricardo, Inc. She was responsible for business development and engineering consulting in the hybrid and battery system and controls and electronics areas. Prior to that, Deepa was at Ford Motor Company, where she led the development of the supervisory powertrain control system for the Ford Hybrid Escape, the world's first hybrid SUV. Deepa and her team won the Henry Ford Technology award in 2005 for this innovative and quality work. She was featured as one of the key members of the Hybrid Escape team in Fast Company and Global Auto Insider magazines. Deepa received an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, one of the nation's top-ranked engineering schools. She received her B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, which is one of India's premier engineering institutions. |
